Cuvée Malbec
A big Malbec comeback in Bordeaux!
A Malbec from Bordeaux instead of Argentina or Chile? Exactly! Although often forgotten, Malbec is actually one of the original Bordeaux grapes. Nevertheless, this wine is the only such Malbec cuvée in the entire Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation. It consists of 80% Malbec and 20% of today's local hero Merlot. Malbec used to occupy nearly half of the area's vineyards, but has largely disappeared in recent decades. Château Haut-Goujon dared the Renaissance!
A gourmet wine, in which aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and cassis, violets, and very present vanilla and pepper can be found. Despite the already considerable age, the Cuvée Malbec is still very playful and the age gives it a touch of the infamous forest floor aroma. Everything in balance and harmony combined to create an unconventional and unforgettable Bordeaux taste experience.
The wine is currently absolutely at the peak of its existence. Drinking now is therefore recommended, whereby the Cuvée Malbec should remain stable at this high level for another 3-5 years.

Château Haut Goujon
Mikäel Garde, seine Frau Valérie und das gesamte Team vom Château Haut-Goujon strahlen dermassen Lebensfreude aus, dass wir beim Besuch des Weinguts im Sommer 2022 sofort angefixt wurden. Zudem ist das Weingut ein Familienbetrieb, der sogar Grossmütter und Enkel einspannt.
Auf dem 18 Hektar grossen Weingut sowohl Weine hergestellt, die sehr typisch für die Region sind, als auch eine beachtliche Zahl an “Monocépage-Weinen”, also Weine aus einer einzigen Rebsorte, unter anderem einen puren Malbec oder Petit Verdot. Besonders Freude bereitet uns, dass das Château Haut-Goujon regelmässig alte Jahrgänge im Angebot hat.
Kellermeister Mikäel ist stets darum bemüht, der lokalen Konkurrenz einen Schritt voraus zu sein. In den Appellationen AOC Lalande-de-Pomerol und AOC Montagne-Saint-Émilion experimentiert er mit allen zugelassenen Bordeaux-Rotweinsorten (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Malbec & Carmenère), was eher aussergewöhnlich ist und dieses Weingut so einzigartig und spannend macht.
