Velvety - sexy - Franciacorta
“Satén” is a specialty from the Franciacorta region and refers to the Lombard word for “velvety”. This type of sparkling wine is characterized by a lower pressure (< 5 atm) in the bottle and therefore a very fine, elegant perlage. Furthermore, only white wine grapes may be processed in the Satén. A true specialty from Franciacorta!
Only the best is good enough for our star producer Santus from Franciacorta. Gianfranco and Maria Luisa, the owners of the winery, put a lot of effort into each of his 5 Franciacorta cuvées. In addition to the classic bottle fermentation, the Satén is first placed in large oak barrels for some time, which gives it incredible depth. Due to the late-harvested grapes, the wine has a high, beautiful aroma intensity for a sparkling wine.
In terms of taste, lemon, grapefruit and apple, and the beautiful brioche note from bottle fermentation, are particularly noticeable in the Satén.

Das Weingut Santus wurde in den 1990er-Jahren dank des Traums von Maria Luisa Santus und Gianfranco Pagano gegründet, die das Weingut auch heute noch gemeinsam führen. Romantischer könnte die Geschichte kaum sein, denn sie haben sich bei einer önologischen Weiterbildung kennengelernt.
Bei Santus stehen vom Design bis zum Rebberg zwei Prinzipien im Vordergrund: Ein moderner Stil und die Nähe zur Natur. Sei es das Etikettendesign, die Kleiderwahl Gianfrancos oder die moderne Architektur des knapp 10 Hektar grossen Weinguts, alles ist in einem eleganten modernen Stil gehalten.
Darüber hinaus ist das Bio-Weingut Santus der Nachhaltigkeit verpflichtet und arbeitet zum Beispiel im Rahmen des “Biopass Projekts” mit der Universität Mailand zusammen, um die Qualität der Böden zu verbessern. Ebenso ist das Weingut energieautark dank der intelligenten Temperatursteuerung im Innern des Kellers sowie der Solarpanels auf dem Dach. Alle Weine von Santus sind von einer Qualität, die man nur mit Superlativen beschreiben kann. Bei Santus wird nichts dem Zufall überlassen!
