An expressive proof of the quality of Friulano
In Friulian "Fuart" means strong or vigorous. This certainly corresponds to the character of this wine, for which only the best Friulano grapes may be used with a rigid manual harvest. The cultivation of the autochthonous Friulano grape variety is a matter of course at Subida di Monte, as it is at many wineries in the region. Nevertheless, this wine is anything but the regional average. The grapes for this wine grow on the edge of the forest and benefit from a special "micro-terroir".
This wine goes through various stages of aging: after a short maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks. Then the wine is decanted into the large wooden barrel, the tonneau, for malolactic fermentation and finally it is aged on the yeast for 7 months. The result is truly a taste firework!
The Fuart impresses with a variety-typical acidity, which is beautifully creamy integrated through the malolactic fermentation. In addition, aromas of lemons and bitter almonds stand out. Definitely a white wine with gastronomic standards.

Winzer Luca Caporale lebt nicht gerne nach Normen. Regeln, die andere aufgestellt haben, sind ihm des Grauens. Für ihn ist Wein kein Produkt, das in DOC-Schemata passen muss, sondern ein lebendiges Ausdrucksmittel von Boden, Jahrgang und Intuition. Er arbeitet biologisch, aber ohne Dogma – mit Respekt vor der Natur, aber ohne sich von Zertifikaten oder Konventionen einschränken zu lassen.
Luca. Er nennt seine Weine «Radici», also Wurzeln, doch sie sind alles andere als festgewachsen. Sie erzählen von Freiheit, Neugier und der Lust, Dinge anders zu machen.
Die Verspieltheit und der Schalk auf seinen Etiketten ist nur einer der auf den ersten Blick sichtbaren Hinweise auf den Charakter Luca's als einem der «Wild Guys» der Weinregion Friaul. Weiteres erfährt ihr im Glas!
